It’s been a QUALITY month… quite literally! A good majority of our work has involved the ISO 9001 quality standard. Here’s a roundup of some of that activity.
Our work with UKAS certification body NQA this month has involved a mix of training and auditing. On the training side we have provided on behalf of NQA:
- An ISO 9001 Lead Auditor course.
- An ISO 45001 Health & Safety Internal Auditor course.
- A course for the management team of BM Trada on the basics of auditing.
As always, the delegates were a pleasure to have on the course and we wish them all the best in their future career development..
Away from training, we also provided on behalf of NQA a surveillance audit for an Electronic Design and Manufacturing Company based in Leeds. This audit was an ISO 9001 QMS surveillance audit. Surveillance audits differ from recertification audits because they are a little less in depth.

We have also been providing internal audit support, namely for a joinery company down in Wiltshire. This was a full suite ISO 9001 quality internal audit, covering everything from the integrity of the quality management system itself, as well as how the management system is manifesting itself in the organization’s actual day-to-day operations.
And lastly, our ongoing work with Sheard continued this month where we provided – you guessed it – an ISO 9001 quality internal audit (you see what we mean by an abundance of quality work?). Unlike the aforementioned internal audit, this audit was not full suite and focussed specifically on Section 7 of the standard.
Section 7 is the “Support” section of the standard, and the final stage of “Plan” in the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. It is there to ensure that everything that is required to support the quality management system is in place, be it people, equipment, training or documentation.
